Looks to me too like it was unsold, starting bid was £1,000, reserve price £1,400 neither of which were achieved.

Yes, unsurprisingly it does appear unsold. The seller says he bought it "as an investment." Good luck with that....

For 1400 quid I think you could commission a very nice silver cantled sporran with a bag of your choice and still have a few quid over for a very good bottle of single malt to celebrate. Of the seller, I think he's dreaming

I wouldn't touch this with a 10 meter pole. Not because of the price, but because of the fact that LV goods are among the most counterfeited in the world! I don't care HOW authentic it looks, or whether the seller is willing to sign an affidavit in blood attesting to the authenticity. The ONLY, and I mean ONLY way I would buy such an item would be directly from Louis Vuitton.

I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of X-Markers aren't part of the "Designer" (as it pertains to fashion houses) crowd.
I know a few people that, if they were stylish enough to wear a kilt , would jump on this this.
I wouldn't, and don't find it even particularly inspired a design.
But "Label-chasers" aren't paying for a product, they're paying for the LABEL which happens to have a product attached to it.
I'm with Downunder Kilt on this one, for $2100US, I'll build a magnificent silver cantled sporran and buy a whopping expensive bottle of something rare and peaty to enjoy while wearing it.

Glad I missed that in my weekly ebay "sporran" search, although I am sure I would not have bid on it as I don't have shoes and a belt to match.

Cheers,
Agreed here, a couple of kilts would do me better than one rather foo foo looking sporran.
