Re: Grandfather Mountain 2012
I could always just live there...I'm sure the property tax is far cheaper.

Re: Grandfather Mountain 2012
There are several hotels in the Banner Elk/Beech Mtn./Sugar Mountain area. Best Western is in Banner Elk, for instance. I should have added that to the previous post.
There's more to that little area, stores, restaurants, college, than Linville/Pineola.

I go to Boone a few times a year to recruit at ASU and to speak to a couple of their student professional clubs.... would really like to go to this one.

MY husband and I are planning on going again. We'll be hanging out at the Wallace tent. Does everyone normally camp or do you rent places to stay? Im not a camper.

Michele and I will be staying at Linville River Log Cabins. We are thinking of having an XMarks picnic at our cabin on Friday between the end of the day's activities and the evening concert. We will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers, all kosher; along with other stuff. I would need get a good count ahead of time, because I doubt if there is a kosher butcher in the area, and the meat will be coming in with us.

I will probably be driving up from Morganton as planned. I did find a hotel, Smoketree Lodge, that has an AED located at the front desk, for those of you with cardiac issues.

Reason: add AED notice.

Count me in for a veggie burger, Geoff. Perhaps some of us campers can car pool down from the Mountain top.
