    Is it just me?

At the risk of being as popular as a french kiss at a family reunion or a one legged man in an **** kicking competition does anyone else actually like Jacobite or Ghillie shirts.

Forgive me father for I have sinned. In my early days of kilting I bought a couple of the aforemention shirts because I thought that was the done thing, however now slightly older and wiser I must admit that I still like them. Knowing that they are not traditional nor indeed part of any respectable kilt outfit I have confined them for use with jeans or casual trousers and I cant help it but I like them. They are reasonably smart casual and at the same time different to what anyone else would normally wear.

Is it just me or is anyone else prepared to form a circle, join hands and say "my name is "X" and I like ghillie shirts"?

My 2 cents, if you like it......wear it.

I love mine. They are perfect for when I'm out hiking or just hanging around. My wife loves them too -- which really says it all.

I like them, in many colors and styles. Started as an alternative shirt for fun(non comp/band) piping and grew from there. I also find them handy for Pirate events, Festivals, hanging out with friends, etc. But I have only been wearing kilts for 25 years so I might have missed something.

also, I started wearing them in New Mexico..so it might be something in the water

I own five of various colours. I have never bought one. They have all come as part of a kilt deal, usually from eBay.

I have never worn one with a kilt though. They come into their own for lounging round the house. Ideal for just after a shower, when a robe would just be too much.

But with a kilt - never.

    Regards

I love 'em, they're just really nice as a casual shirt at the same level as a polo shirt. Don't know why so many people get their regimental tackle in a knot about 'em personally, it's not like they're WHITE HOSE or something!!

People are free to do as they wish.

That said, I personally hate them and would never wear one.
