I really don't think there is much of a problem posting computer generated images from public sites, and after all Dalgleish are trying to sell cloth as well! I'm sure that there might be some cause for invasion of privacy considerations if actual people were pictured, and then I might agree.

Why all the hate for the word "autumnal"? According to dictionary.com it's been around since 1630-1640, and it's the most succinct word to I can think of describe things that are evocative of autumn. Anyway:

Left to right:
Lochcarron Munro Weathered
D.C. Dalgliesh Munro Reproduction
D.C. Dalgliesh Munro Hunting Reproduction (AKA Black Watch, Campbell, etc.)
The red Munro really brought home to me the importance of ordering swatches; the image on Lochcarron's web site looks very greenish and unpleasant, but in real life it's the most pleasing weave I've found; House of Edgar also has a 'Muted' Munro but it's even more maroon than D.C. Dalgliesh's. (Pity Lochcarron leaves out the purple stripes, though!)

I have absolutely no connection to the MacLarens at all, but if I did, you can be sure I'd own one of these.
MacMillans son's kilt is gorgeous, BTW, I've seen it a few times.
You might look up the Capercaillie tartan. It's more "earthy" than autumnal... HA, two SAT words in one sentence... but I got it, and I really like it.

Alan H, although the photo you posted did not show up on my screen, the hint of "washing on the line" gave the game away. It is me.

I think a lot of the weathered tartans are very "Autumnal"

Could be just the monitor or it could be the difference in the mill used to make the tartan.
Here is my Batley's Maple Leaf 5 yard kilt from Rocky. Indeed, great "Autumnal" colors

Thank all of you for muddying my mental waters even more! This really did help narrow things down a bit, since a tartan search based on colors yielded a boatload of fashion and custom weave stuff that isn't readily available. I like the tartans you all were kind enough to show me (Tobus--me likey. Alan--your Capercaillie is great. Especially with the white hose. At least I know mine would go well with it! ) but as of 7:30 on Wednesday night, my lustful little loins are itching for the County Cavan.

Thank you for your assistance, Gentlemans! I still love the Maple Leaf, but that Cavan is sweet. Anyone else?

*** on all of the above. I'd love to have any one of these, though MS's kilt has me drooling. I wish I could justify getting one. I honestly am close to throwing family tartan to the wind, getting one, and just fist fighting anybody who took offense... it is that beautiful.

[QUOTE=MacMillan's son;1091744]I think the HOE County Cavan is one my favorite Autumnal tartans (Hey, that is fun to say! )

All very nice. But this one gets my vote too. Really beautiful!
