'Ancient' colours in the 'hunting' or the red tartan (see photos of me below)? Either one is very smart in my opinion, but of course the Macpherson 'hunting' tartan is the most popular sett worn by the clan.

The first photograph is the sett and color I am referring to (though I am also partial to the Macpherson red in the ancient colors shown in the latter photo). I want an 8 yard 16 oz. kilt made from wool from Lochcarron in the 'ancient' hunting. Preferably pleated to the stripe. Thank you so much for the photo, it is a great way to see the fabric as it will look, not just a swatch. Again, very sharp! cheers mate, Nick Pratt

This is precisely what my kilt featured in the first photograph is made of, the Macpherson 'hunting' tartan in the Lochcarron Strome fabric. This particular photo was taken in the hills above Newtonmore, just after the Clan Macpherson Gathering and Rally concluded for the weekend. Below are a few other photos of me wearing the Breacan Glas, or the "Grey Plaid of Cluny." Enjoy!

. In the second photo from the bottom, I am compelled to ask are those casks full, and also whereabouts was it taken? Again the photos are much obliged, and I am now certain that this is the tartan that I will choose. Cheers, Nick

As it so happens I just shipped out a four yard box pleated kilt I made in this same tartan (Lochcarron's 16 oz MacPherson Hunting ancient).
