Getting plans together to go to one of the theatres on Michigan Avenue tomorrow early with my kilted daughter and my not-kilted wife (eh...we'll make her walk three steps behind us and pretend that she's not with us ).
Delightfully, daughter gave me the nice little box set of plastic figures from Brave for Fathers' Day....very cool!

My real estate brokerage is holding a screening on July 5 for a fundraiser for our Womens & Childrens Shelter Foundation in Toronto. As their 'kilted realtor' i've been invited. Expecting a piper, highland dancers and perhaps more pre show. Also expecting a large number of non-kilters to be kilted up for the occasion. Pics to follow!

Going to a Brave matinee in the kilt with the family. Not sure what I'm wearing on top, maybe a tee shirt, maybe a sweater. We are having that classic SF bay area "winter-in-summer" yesterday and today.

My wife and I are planning to see it later this evening. However, there will be no kilt wearing on my part, as I would be too afraid of spilling something on the apron, or worse yet, sitting on something sticky!
Enjoy the movie,

Put a flashlight and a napkin (for you lap) in your sporran and you're good to go!
I'll be taking the kids tomorrow, but I'm also not sure if I'll be kilted - my daughter has just reached that age where Dad is starting to get embarrassing!

My daughter has requested that I wear the kilt, so I am very pleased. We are going tomorrow to see it.

We liked it!
Just got back from a 3D matinee with the family. I was kilted in a Black Watch B&S casual wool, black Guinness tee, blue wool socks, brown doc martens, black hunter's kilt belt and country sporran. No objections from my wife, 14 year old son, 10 year old daughter, and only a limited objection from my 12 year old daughter. When I pointed out the movie we were going to, she was fine with it.
Without any spoilers, let's say that my family's diverse range of tastes all liked the film very much. It has action, humor, character development, great animation, especially the scenery, archery scenes, and of course, Merida's much discussed animated hair. Overall, 5 thumbs up!
By the way, not a comment, question, or odd look regarding the kilt. The audience had a class of 1st or 2nd graders (3 or 4 rows together!), some families, young teens, older teens, and some 20s-30s something couples. Not a word from anyone...

We just arrived home from seeing Brave, what a lovely movie indeed! My wife and I enjoyed it very much. And I'm glad that I chose not to wear my kilt, because I spilled a drink on my lap! I think I must have pysched myself out in my previous post! Oh dear!
Hahahahaha!
Cheers,
