Added the meetup info to the first post.
I've been dealing with some thigns past few weeks (mother with knee replacement, storm causing a tree to total my vehicle, etc.) but hope to still be able to make it up on either Friday or Saturday. If so, will do my best to make the meet up!

It can very ... in the past have had a few rainy days were it came through strong but only lasted about an hour. up there its a bit unpredictable but for the most part what ever the weather .. it dosent last long. I my self was up there several years ago when it was foggy the entire weekend... cool and foggy with the bagpipes playing in the shadows. It was great

Definitely bring good rain gear and prepare for wet, cold and often windy conditions. You can always tell the seasoned veterans in the camping area because they will have one or two tarps over their tent area...the only way to really stay dry many days.
If you are just strolling around and have no clan tent to dive into, be sure to bring a poncho so that you can stay reasonably dry. Leave your expensive gillie brouges at home...unless you want to spend a couple hours cleaning and polishing them after they get soaked and muddied.
Bottom line, weather at that elevation in the southern Appalachians can change three times per hour, and it's not uncommon to have fierce afternoon thunderstorms that seemingly appear out of nowhere and then disappear just as quickly. Plan for the ugly and pray that it stays nice.

I was hoping to be able to be there either Sat or Sun but today I found out that I have to work both days after taking 5 days off last Thursday through Monday. I usually have Sat OR Sun, but not this coming weekend. Everyone have a great time, I'll be thinking of you.
