As you are on a budget you may want to take a look at tartan4less. they are doing made to measure 5 yarders in 16oz Lochcarron strome for £179.00 some of our members have bought kilts from them and have been impressed with the quality.
Not as good as one to one with your kiltmaker but much cheaper.
