    New STA web site launched

In case anyone missed it today, the STA has revamped their web site and it went live earlier this morning.

    http://www.tartansauthority.com/

Still some bugs to work out, I am sure, but please take a look around!

(PS -- if anyone notices any bugs that need fixing, it would be a great help to email them to admin@tartansauthority.com)

Matt: Thanks for letting us know. A much improved web site with a more intuitive interface and navigation. My compliments to Brian Wilton. I particularly like the "Hame" page.

I just happened to notice that the STA now displays all three "Blaylock" tartans. I suppose that's the main reason for the upgrade.

But, standards must be maintained, so it was a relief to see the preservation of the rotating pictures of folks in a variety of Scottish attire. My favorite is of the lady who I can never remember exactly what tartan item she is actually wearing. Why is that?!

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

It’s a personal opinion but as a Scot I don't. I've never said 'hame', don't live in an area where anyone does - it's a Lowland dialectal form of home and it's use on the site makes me cringe frankly – smacks of the Andy Stewart ‘White Heather Club’. Given that this is a website dedicated to tartan and highland dress perhaps it should say 'dachaidh'. :-)

I really like the bigger Tartan Ferret. But now the poor guy looks more like an otter.

Sort of surprised me when I opened the page this morning to do a search.

On the whole I can't see that it is much of an improvement, though thankfully it hasn't gotten worse. There is one glaring problem, though, and perhaps someone who is in regular contact with the STA can pass this along. They need to adjust the z-index of the menu so the longer drop-downs do not disappear behind the central banner image.

Not dirty, just forgetful, and certainly not young, only young at heart.

Good point. As I mentioned in my initial posting, if you see bugs that need fixing the best thing to do is to email admin@tasrtansauthority.com and bring it to their attention. Thanks!
