WOW! Many thanks to you all for your kind and generous Birthday wishes - I am truly touched that so many friends, old and new, and even a complete stranger (!) have taken the trouble to contribute to the thread. Actually, it wasn an unremarkable day as I am still convalescing from my recent surgery (but improving daily), meaning that feasting, drinking alcohol and otherwise indulging in riotous living are non-starters. Friends and neighbours have visited and delivered birthday cards, risking their lives as they negociated the security measures here at Bicknell Grange, which was very nice, but otherwise it has been a quiet sort of day. The sun actually shone for a few hours during the morning - a very welcome break from the months of incessant rain - so maybe the birthday had something to do with that!! Which kilt did I wear? Well, the choice is still very limited as I cannot yet tighten the straps sufficiently to wear truly traditional kilts as they should be worn (I do hope I shall be able to do that again in two or three weeks time), so my Gunn modern casual from USA Kilts served me well throughout the day.
