A belated welcome from a near neighbour. I am a Canadian, from Edmonton (which is where I am at the moment), but in the process of transplanting to Lille. Perhaps a kilt night in Paris is in the cards ...

Hope you will appreciate the capital of the North in France.
In Paris there is a pub called "The Auld Alliance" where scottish or non-scottish but kilted people like to have a wee dram.

Welcome from Ireland, a land much influenced by Normans and Huguenots.
I think a kilt night in Paris is a cracking idea.

Hi, Black Taylor, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa, where English is also a foreign language in the rural areas.
While Brittany is richly blessed with tartans, the rest of France has only a few.
There are district tartans for Aubigny, Picardy, Normandy and the Franche Comté. There are two tartans for Terre d’Ecosse (which I gather is a tourism organisation), one for the Alliance France Ecosse, and one titled Auld Alliance.
There are tartans for 14 French families, and four for French corporates.
Regards,
Mike

Now that I live nearby we should consider a kilt night in Paris ... or indeed here in Lille. My next trip to Paris will be 6-7 November - midweek, and I will be busy during the late afternoon and evening - but there will be other times.
