Sherwood Forest Celtic Festival Sept 22-23
Hey Texans. Who is going to the Sherwood Forest Celtic Festival in McDade, TX?
It is going to be Sat-Sun, September 22-23. McDade is a small town east of Austin.
This will the second year they are doing this, and there was a great turn out last year.
I will be there hosting the Clan Keith tent again.

My wife and I are making plans to be there. We've done Sherwood Forest Faire the last two years and had a great time. Looking forward to the Celtic Festival.

I plan to be there, but don't know which day. Will try to gather up a few more to go with me. Let's schedule times for meeting up.

I'm glad you brought it up. I am hoping to make it this year. I had planned to go last year, but my mother died a week before the event, and a Highland Games was the last thing on my mind. Hopefully this year my wife and I will have nothing else going on. We heard that last year's event was so busy and overwhelming that they ran out of tickets and vendors were sold out of virtually everything. Sounds like it was an amazing turnout, and hopefully this year they will be better prepared.
(And let's hope, too, that the weather isn't brutally hot!)

Yes, last year basically twice is many folks turned out for the first year than were expected, and there were some shortages of food and drinks by the end of the day. But hey, that's better than no turnout! Rest assured that won't happen this year, there are more vendors on tap, and they will be stocked! I'll see you there!

Some vendors ran out beer and soda, but never went without eating. It was a great crowd last year, even though some were commenting that the forest fires stopped just a couple of miles from there. We are expecting more clans this year, and an even bigger turn out. Other than the heat, it was great.

Put Heather and I down as tentative. We're pretty much in Get Through The Wedding mode for the next three weeks, but after that, who knows...

See you there! Anyone in the Austin area should come out, its close by and pretty inexpensive for the amount of entertainment you'll get. http://www.sherwoodforestfaire.com/c...estival/music/

As the date gets closer, let's get more specific and arrange a meeting time.
