De groeten terug en thanks for your words. My kilt is on its way to me again so I'll have to see how it fits me this time. I have to say my wife now has an "oh whatever" attitude where it was "no way in hell" before. So who knows. But I'm not counting on her dressing any different for occasions from now on. Perhaps when she'll find a tartan she likes?

My wife also has gone from being cool to warming slightly with regard to my kilts. I long to see become enthusiastic – although it was quite a surprise when she said I should save up for a proper Scottish kilt.

My wife also is cool to the idea of the kilt as everyday wear, so I've purchased her a kilted skirt in her family tartan. Now I'm just waiting for the skirt to be delivered. I hope it may thaw the opinion.

Well, here it is. Had a 12 hour work day so I look kinda tired and standing straight is a bit hard (back problem). A few things I don't like right now:

    - I think the kilt is really dark on me so I need some bright colour or light shirts to counter that
    - I need a pair of coloured hose to wear. I recieved a pair of offwhite ones with the kilt too
    - I really dislike the large shiny buckle. Might try it for formal wear sometime but I'll buy a simple brown belt instead
    - I really dislike the sporran chains. And I need a brown sporran (brown sporran belt already ordered)

Might take some getting used to after all
(oh, and remember, this kilt just barely fits me right now. Planning on losing at least 20 pounds in the next months so hopefully that will change somewhat.

yes, I need a new camera. This one makes perfect pictures in bright sunlight but is rubbish indoors and at night.

The belt and buckle seem to be just right, but you could place them a little higher, and the sporran a bit lower.
My personal experience of sporran chains has been disastrous, and the best thing I did was to get rid of the chains that came with both my sporrans, and replace them with leather straps.
    Keep on kilting!
    Regards,
    Mike
