Somerset Kilt Night
We have another coming up this Friday night.
we hope to discuss plans for an outing (wrong word, try excursion) together.
Has anyone else organised daytime trips? what kind of things did you do?
We'll also be discussing the upcoming dinner to mark Tartan Day, plans are going well, about 25 have accepted the invitation.
It should be a great time to promote kilts.

Sounds like you've got a good size group going there, Graham. Do you know of any local radio stations that might be willing to sponsor a good cause? Like beer and shrimp on the barbie etc...

Yuk I wouldn't touch shrimp with a 40 foot pole, we only have a light supper, but I am hoping to test the new veggie haggis on them tomorrow.

Now I dont have a problem with vegetarians, but dont talk bad about the shrimp!!!
I am like Benjamin Beauford Blue when it comes to shrimp!
(I am sure that will go over some folks heads so a pat on the back to the first one to explain it!)

You're right KC. He was also known as Bubba.
Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies.
Add one more to the Bubba list of
shrimp lovers here. I'm going to have
some tonight, when I have some shrimp fajitas.
I don't believe that made Bubba's list of
shrimp dishes.
I have eaten at the Forrest Gump restaurant at Fishermen’s wharf in San Francisco.
It is worth eating there just for the
view of the bay not to mention the great food.

I will eat fish, but only (as the Bible says) if it has fins and scales. There is untold wisdom in that.
But back to the topic.....
Our kilt night went well, everyone loved my new USAkilt, Daniel, my son (voted sexiest in a kilt) was there, he borrowed my Bear Kilt, so we had five men in kilts and four wives.
Leslie (my wife) tested a vegetarian haggis (without shrimp) on the crew, they all loved it, I think she has a winner here!
Plans for the big Tartan Day dinner in a weeks' time were discussed and a nice bottle of whisky shared.
Photos will be posted when I get time.
We're visiting another church in the morning, another great chance to wear a kilt!
