			Newbie kilt question: Thread?

Good morning, all! I just received my kilt (Houston Kiltmakers in Paisley / DC Dalgliesh) in the mail this morning. Just a quick question. There's a series (3) of white threading on each side of the kilt and I'm not sure what it's for. If you look about 2/3 the way down in the photo, you can see it in the middle of a red square. Definitely don't know what to do with it. Below is an attempted newbie paste of the photo and the link to where you can view it. Experts, please ring in if possible. Thanks for your patience with me!

Those are basting threads to keep the pleats in order for pressing and shipping. If you have a good fit then just carefully cut and remove the threads so the pleats can fly free. Welcome and enjoy your new kilt.

Reverend Father, have you ever considered having a kilted cassock made? I think it would be just the thing for a man in your line of work.

Trust me, you are not the first to wonder about those "white stitches" that hold the pleats down.
But now, you owe us a picture of you wearing the kilt withOUT the basting stitches
