Tartan patterned shirts/flannel shirts

I've never been a plaid shirt fan, but I may have to give them a second look.

It is here in the south.

45 is our 'average' temperature but we do get the single digits sometimes. For once, living near the DC-Boston megalopolis is helpful.

Found a Crawford tartan shirt in a second-hand store, and I save it for very 'special' occasions; like the night before my son's wedding...

I got a short from the store I got my two kilts ... this is actually made in Canada and is of Canada's "Maple Leaf" official tartan. I mostly wrap it around my waist and look in the mirror when envisioning a kilt in the Maple Leaf tartan ....but I wear it occassially with a kilt out and about (a bit too much tartan I suppose )

Though I dont have any "tartan" shirts I do have some comfy old flannel plaid shirts. At first I was in a quandary about wearing them with tartan kilts until I bought a Saffron kilt. They always went well with jeans and i will wear them with my hunting breeks but the Saffron kilt allowed the wearing of the plaid quite well. Beside the white and black I have red and black, gray and blue and red, black and white. All go good with the solid kilt.

Well the Canadian Maple Leaf works pretty well with your Black Watch. Id really like to latch onto a shirt of that material. Any ideas where there might be one sold?

My shirt label says "Bonda Bay" ... I searched for that but didn't find anything concrete yet.

I don't see the shirt listed online but perhaps they can make one of some size available. I can't remember the price but probably in the $20 to $30 range - I can't see myself buying a shirt above that (but maybe I was feeling like splurging at that time ... it was the same day I bought my second kilt during a half-price sale for $100)

I also have a "Bonda Bay" flannel **** -- in the Cape Breton tartan; it's one of my favorite shirts for several reasons, not least being that my wife and I picked it up in a gift shop in the Dingwall area while on our honeymoon. Tried several times to find out anything about the "Bonda Bay" label, to no avail.

I also have a few LL Bean tartan flannel shirts: Leslie modern, Forbes weathered, and Mackenzie ancient... as well as a "dress Campbell" that is nearly worn through.

Each forms an integral part of my casual attire once the weather starts to turn cool.
