Please remember that when you stitch your straps and buckles back on you MUST stitch completely through the outer fabric catching the stabilizer and interfacing as you go.

If you only stitch the straps and buckles to the outer fabric you lose the strength of the kilt and transfer the stress of wearing the kilt to the fabric and pleat stitching.

Your kilt will stretch out of shape and the fabric will be distorted.

If you do not understand the internal elements of your kilt may I suggest that you take a look at a thread from last year where I opened up a kilt to show what is hidden underneath the liner.
