    My kilt arrived!

Woke up this morning to a package on the table from scottishkilts.net. My 13 oz 8 yard, ancient Hay. Looks great, fits perfect, feels "liberating" . I'll post pictures soon.

Zeytoun, You wear Ancient Hay? Bear made me an 8yd Ancient Hay just after the first of the year. I had a piper in Sean Donlans of Annapolis actually recognise the tartan. Boy, what a surprise!

Z... I ask you, are these NOT the BEST kilts made out there?!

I was FLOORED at the quality, fit and construction. I opted for the hand-sewn traditional, and don't regret the choice at all!!!

Donnie: yep, I'm a Gifford (or Giffarde if you prefer), sept of Hay. I love the look of the muted colors, so looks like we have at least 2 things in common.

Jimmy: yes, it is very well made, and fits perfectly. I was impressed, because I took my measurements myself and I am very picky about how things fit, and it was right on. I was going to buy a 16oz/8yrd from them, but they suggested a 13oz/8yrd and I'm glad they did because it's getting warm here. For the excellent quality and service, the price is better than most. I've never worn a kilt, so I have little to reference it by, but I can tell that it is a very fine garment.

I have a local kiltmaker downtown who was a little cheezed that I didn't by from him, but his was over $100 more expensive.

I'll upload a photo of the tartan to my gallery, and as soon as I get kilt hose and I iron a shirt, I'll put a picture of me wearing the whole thing. (Thinking of oatmeal colored hose, let me know what you think guys).

For kilt hose, see if you can match one of the main colors in the tartan. That most always looks good.
