For the ren-faire I wear ankle boots made by Minnesota Moccasin. Comfortable, not quite period, but servicable.
Every year I promise myself that I'm going to make a pair of pampooties, but I never seem to get around to it.

    Hi Drchef,

Zardos is the man with the most experience of renfaire - bar none.

Sashes - for pretty girls only.

Sporran hangers - work very well for "Men of Substance", because the chain tends to force everyone to look at the belly. Sporran hangers do away with the sticking out stomach look. They are not usually considered dressy.

    Regards

    Chas

Sashes are for women. Men wear a Fly Plaid / Day (lairds) Plaid / Pipers Plaid or Drummers laid, but none of them would be worn for a casual event like the Renn Faire (except MAYBE the Day / Lairds Plaid)
