X Marks Athletes at the Pleasanton Championships

I believe there will be pictures, and also a rundown in a bunch of our logs, but I thought the rabble would be interested to know that our X Marks athletes turned in a pretty stellar performance at the Pleasanton Highland Games.

Yours Truly placed fourth, right behind X Marker Roger Saunders, in the overall score in the 50-59's, and then won the Caber Championships on Sunday.

Roger Saunders, "RogerWS76‎," here on X Marks, placed third overall in the 50-59's for a trip up to the podium and then WON the 50+ weight over bar championship on Sunday, clearing 15 feet.

So now RogerWS76‎ and Alan H have ridiculously shiny trophies to brag about until next year!

o1d_dude, placed third in the 60+ group...and whupped me in wob on Saturday, too I might add.

Nor Cal X Marks bff and "lurker extraordinaire" ... Bethany Owen hung in there with a just utterly ridiculously talented Womens class to finish 7th, and got herself a personal record in the Heavy Hammer along the way. She managed to beat a couple of pretty gnarly lasses in a couple of events during the weekend, and finished 5th in caber (in this group, that's no joke) , so she's jazzed about that

Nor Cal X Marks friend and also "lurker extraordinaire" (we gotta get him to log his workouts) Marty Nichols got to throw in the 50-59's and had a good day, sticking a lot of throws within 5% of his best (consistency counts in this sport) and notching at least one PR, in the Braemar stone.

I'm sure there will be mobs of pictures in the picture forum, but I thought folks would enjoy knowing about this. Your X Marks Heavy Athletes are a pretty good mess' o throwers!
