40th Stone Mountain Highland games Oct 20 2012

The 40th annual Stone Mountain Highland games should prove to be very good this year , just got an e mail from the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs
and there will be a lot of them at the games this year from Scotland.

Hope to see everyone there .

I would like to give this a bump and invite everyone to the Friday Pre-games gathering at the Celtic Tavern. We often meet to talk and share a wee dram or three on the Friday night before the games really get into swing.

If you're going to the Sponsors' Reception, you can drop in there, wander about, and then come to Conyers for the real fun. I always enjoyed the receptions when I went, but they were always a little to big and impersonal unless you have a lot of friends there. And you'll have lots of friends at the Celtic. It's about a 25 minute drive from the park if you're staying there.

Jim, we're coming over for the games this year and plan to be at the Tavern. This will be Kim's first trip to Stone so I'd just like to ask everyone to be on their best behavior and make a good first impression. ;-)

Just a heads up for anyone new to the games - When you buy a ticket for the games
the arm band they give you will allow you to go to the Mountain and do all the
Attractions for free _ (Great deal ) so after the games wind down run over tot the big Stone and have fun -the kids will love it.

Unfortunately, my wife and I will not be able to attend this year (we seriously thought about it), as I have never been and am dying to attend these games, but we are indeed planning on being there next year. Have a great time!

    Cheers,
