    My Bonnie Heather Greene kilt

Greetings, it has been a year since I got my Tank from Bonnie. Since then I have worn it maybe 4 times for special occasions, weddings and my girlfriends birthday. I finally got a camera in front of me to share her artistry. Bonnie is a wonderful craftswoman and creates a beautiful kilt. I was new to kilts when I called her about my kilt. I had been to Scotland on a bike tour with my girlfriend in June of 2011. While there I bought an off the rack Hector Russell kilt along with kilt hose and flashes. When I got home I did as usual, hit the computer and did alot of research. I had a wedding I was to attend in September and wanted to go kilted yet I wasnt going to wear the off the rack and still needed the kit to go with a kilt. While doing research I came across this site and eventually Bonnie's name for hand made kilts. I know there are many great kilt makers here on XMarks but somehow you find someone that just seems right. It was mid July when I asked if she could make me a kilt for the end of September. She checked availability of the German Heritage fabric (tartan designed by Rocky of USA Kilts) and gave me a quote. Without blinking an eye I sent measurements and a down payment. In that time I had also bought a Stillwater Kilts standard, which I enjoy wearing, and accumulated some kit. Well Bonnie kept me up on the progress of my kilt and said it would be to me before the wedding. I was getting more and more comfortable in kilts so when it arrived I had to wait till the next day to go to the post office to sign for it. It was a treat to open the package and take out my new kilt. It fit so well that after a short try on I undid the basting. I just marveled at the craft work put into this kilt. Stitches are invisible, pleats are deep, the pleating to sette is perfect and I couldnt wait for the wedding. All I can say is every time I wear it I feel so very comfortable and know I am wearing a piece of art. I wore it this past weekend to a wedding again, the daughter of the woman who got married almost a year ago. I made sure to put everything back on this morning and snap a few photos. I have learned alot about what to wear and not wear so I am a bit better outfitted now than the first time. Ive always said "It is the woman that makes the dress look good... " In this case "It is the kilt that makes this man look good".. Bonnie is an artist and a wonderful craftswoman that carries on a tradition I hope continues for all of time.

Front view. a perfect fit length wise.

I cant help but feel dressed to the T's whenever I wear this kilt.

Very nice! I like the charcoal and brown combos in vest/hose and shoes/sporran.

    Go Bonnie

Great pics, and wonderful kilt by Bonnie. I hope you enjoy every minute of it.

I, too, have one of her works of wonder: an 8-yard Marton Mills , 16 oz. in Robertson Red Modern. I love that thing. I just need to wear it more. I'm afraid to use it in certain situations, but what am I holding back for? You do the same with your kilt...go out and wear it!!!!!

    I agree, Bonnie is a real crafts-person
