How to make a kilt smaller at the waist ?

I have a utkilt 36" waist and it is a little too big around the waist but around the hip it fits better than a 34" waist size. How should i make t ft better around the waist for a perfect fit ? Should i add snaps to adjust the kilt?

There are a number of threads here on how to do that, and someone will probably explain it shortly much better than I could...

....or you could just start drinking milkshakes until it fits.

Most of the threads I've seen (or at least remember) deal with moving buckles. You say "utkilt," unclear if you mean a "kilt from UT company" or trying to say "Utilikilt" which is a whole different animal in terms of closure. Your mention of snaps makes me think more along Utilikilt lines.

If you explain the original closure method, we can offer better advice. . . buckles? snaps? Velcro? All will have differing solutions.

I snagged a 16oz weathered Lamont in waist size 44" for less than $100.00...I need to figure a way (if possible) to have it tailored to fit a 35"-36"???
