Daily I wear just a regular 1 3/4 wide brown belt with my Leadville Trail 100 buckle. I wore it with jeans, back when I wore jeans, and it is fine with a kilt. I keep the big "Kilt" belt and buckle for nicer occasions. I also wear a 2.5 inch black web belt and my nylon Stillwater day sporran when I wear my casual kilts on my walk to work or to the store.
Casual Saffron kilt with flannel shirt and wool vest. Belt is as described above.
With leather jacket ready for the pub. Ive always been a casual dresser even in the kilt.
