    You fail to get the ebay protection scam. He will offer a money back guarantee that it's what he says it it. But that is just for the cost of the item but excludes any shipping. So make sure you make your money with the shipping. Also, ebay gets a cut of anything you sell. but that too excludes all shipping costs. So it makes sense to insert for $0.01 and charger your minimum asking price in the shipping costs as you don't have to pay ebay for selling.

    He made a mistake when he set up the sale. Check out shipping to France - same cost of £1000. I didn't check many, but it seems to be a default setting if nothing is selected by the seller.

    Or he could genuinely not want to sell outside of the UK.
