Beginning Thrower in North-Central WV
Hi all! Kevin Patrick, here.
I've got one 'definite' (myself) and three or four 'maybes' who are interested in training for the Heavy Games.
I live in Morgantown WV, and I can travel a bit if that's necessary. We are looking for someone who can help "get us off the ground" so to speak. Show us good form, and maybe practice some. If anyone has contacts in the area, please help!
I've been going to Celtic and Highland festivals (Ligonier, Bridgeport, some in Ohio) for several years now. My family is pretty big into our Scottish and Irish heritage. Both my brother and I went to prom in our kilts (Clan Lamont), I was married in mine, and I'd like to get into heavy athletics. I'm 27, I captained my high school rugby team for three years, did a bit of rock climbing and hiking, played soccer: the usual I guess. I'm not in the greatest of shape currently, so I realize that's the first hurdle. I intend to go crawling through the local creeks and rivers this weekend in search of some good stones.
Anyhoo... any help or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks, and I look forward to your responses!
