    Fur and Sporrans ?

** MODS if this is to much then please remove it **

I was just wondering what the Rabble thought about FUR sporrans ?

I have a goat hair sporran and I was looking into other fur sporrans but
I watched a video on how the overseas FUR market gets there FUR.
Grafic ** not for kids to see **
    https://secure.peta.org/site/Advocac...m_medium=Alert

I don't want to start a war or a big problem but , Man this is crazy
I wonder how many sporrans out there have fur on them ,that was collected in this manner.

This video had me in tears for the animals , I am not a protester or a problem
maker , I am not saying don't eat an animal , but if they are being killed , it should be done Humanely right , not in the horrible manner they are being killed .

Again I am not sharing this to start a Problem , just to ask the rabble to think
about the next FUR sporran you buy . I will .

** Please dont make me out to be some - Protester
I am just sharing something I found , to be upsetting to me .
    Thank you

As with all things, knowing your source is crucial. Food, kilts, highland accessories, scotch, etc. If you know who made it, where they made it, and what they made it from, you can make an informed decision.

Based on your original post, don't ever visit a slaughterhoue or a rendering plant unless you're already a vegetarian. Just sayin'...

As with all livestock and game -- some animals are treated with respect and harvested as humanely as possible, and others are not. If that's important to you, know your sources and vote with your wallet.

Good point , I have looked at all the EBAY sporrans and thought man that is a good deal
But now I see how much it really cost to make prodution run sporrans.

I could not imagine wearing a sporran that was made this way .

But as you said if I dont like it then dont buy it right , I will take that into thought

I wear my kilts without regard to what other people may think, pro or con.

Sporrans, on the other hand. . .

I have two fur sporrans, a full-mask silver fox from Craigie and a natural-color beaver Glengyle from Ferguson Britt. I haven't worn the silver fox for a decade, and I've noticed that, beautiful as the beaver Glengyle is, pretty much the only times I wear it are when I'm in Japan.

I buy all of my fur from only two places. I buy from them because the pelts are wild takes, clean with only 1-2 holes, and come with all legal tags and paperwork.
    I won't buy farmed fur.

Fur is indeed an animal product, which everyone has to come to their own terms on. I respect both sides of this argument.

This is quite an unpleasant video, but you should also examine the source. PETA has a particular point of view, and will pick footage that serves their message, and nothing that reenforces the opposite p.o.v.
As with nearly everything, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
