    Does your kilt have back pockets that go through the kilt? If so I'm afraid that if you are not an experienced kilt maker this would not be an easy fix.

    Wear braces to hold it up and a jacket or waistcoat to hide them. That's what I did one Christmas however my girth changed throughout the lunch and I was glad of the extra room.

    I second the use of braces. If it were a tank I would suggest two doughnuts each morning until it begins to feel right and then stop! Being it is a very casual garment, expensive to modify the suspenders are sufficient. Doughnuts are, however, good.
