I also went to the Plaid Place store (since it was a year ago there whence my kilt-wearing days started) and tried on an Irish National tartan kilt (actually tried on a few of that ... thought I was wider than I turned out to be). I was talking to the girl working there today and it turns out she was an Anderson .... I found out after I had said my mother's side was Anderson. That was pretty neat and we talked a bit.

I can't really buy a new kilt now anyway and I think I' rather get one made with the Maple Leaf tartan, Newfoundland tartan or Anderson ancient or weathered tartan.

Grats on your first year anniversary. As a resident of the HRM, I know how challenging it can be to wear kilts in our ever changing environment.

Best wishes for your second year!

I believe that is why the petticoat was invented; or you could just wear a second kilt.

    First, congratulations on the milestone.

I was going to send you a PM about this, but figured the rabble, or some of it at least, might also be interested. You have a unique and good look. You look comfortable physically as well as emotionally with you deportment. I like it. I notice in your pictures that you don't seem to have much need of a sporran. I notice your belt bag. I'm wondering how much you use it, how you like it and why you're generally sporranless?
