I can't speak for the wool casual, but I'm extremely fond of my PV semi-trad. The lighter fabric definitely doesn't have the swing of heavy wool, but it still looks (and feels) darned good, and it's easy to care for. It's comfortable and casual enough for pub night, but formal enough for the wedding that I expect to wear it to later this year.

With that said, as others before me have noted, no kilt is perfect for all situations, so go with whichever you feel most drawn to. Any well made kilt is a good kilt!
