Well, I had my camera with me the other day, and Squeaky Boo, held still long enough for a snap.

Normally, this little one is a playful, and active kitten. Yesterday, when I opened her kennel door, she stepped into my hands and started to purr.

I'm beginning to realize that a kitten will eat into my kilt funds a bit. Guess I can put off (yet again), adding that Mapleleaf casual to my collection.

    AAAAAAAAH. A cute overload!!

She's tooooo sweet. She reminds me of a 17th century painting with the lace ruffs as she's sporting a nice white lace one herself.

My daughter's friend has a cat named Squeak and it fits him to a T.

Although not gaelic I kinda like the name "Skid" this this little one.

If you want a good scottish name why not wallace, or bruce, or name her after a prominent place like Skye, or a scottish derivation like Scotia or Alba.

    Talking Congratulations!!

There exist a special bond between men and animals when a kindred hearts are touched. A name for a cat?? Like the old joke of the farmer who had 17 cats, they were all called "Cat". When asked why, he said " Why name them, they never come when called".

A good name, considering the situation - HOPE! That there is hope for all rescues>

How about Flora after Flora McDonald who risked her life aiding the escape of Bonnie Prince Charlie. You can't get much more of an heroic Scottish name than that.

The Naming Of Cats by T. S. Eliot

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
    It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.

First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey--
All of them sensible everyday names.

There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter--
But all of them sensible everyday names.

But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?

Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.

But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
    And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover--
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.

When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:

    His ineffable effable
    Effanineffable
    Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

    Regards

    Chas

Now that is one photogenic kitten!

How about Fionna for a name? It derives from the word "fair/ bright".
    Or Aisling meaning "dream/vision"?

Anyway, good luck with choosing a name for this lucky kitten.

[QUOTE=Really a McQueen;1133385]You already know the problem with naming her after the immortal Squeaky McMurdo. "There can be only one".

Well how about "Bubble and squeak" but then..... We always name our cats "Kitty" because that't the only name they come to: "Here kitty, kitty, kitty..."
