Good news, Squeaky Boo is going to be spayed this week, and will be ready to adopt as early as this Thursday.
The bad news, I just started a temporary job that will prevent me from being able to adopt her that soon, as I'm working during shelter hours, except for the days that the shelter is closed.
Worse news, a family is also interested in adopting her. I know, as I showed her to them today (my one day off that matched with the shelter's schedule, this week).
Nice news is that the shelter staff was willing to make her unavailable for adoption by anyone else, if I wanted her. However, with the new, temporary job, I wouldn't have the time necessary to properly acclimate a kitten to my home for a couple of weeks. After the job is done, if she is still available, then I will go forward and adopt. If she is adopted before then, I'll just have to wait until the next special connection is made.
