What's U R favorite hose color?
Recently, someone had posted a thread asking about what color hose would go with the Holyrood tartan. Of course, the answers were varied, and they all seemed to go very nicely with it, but my response was claret. The grey seemed to be a color that washed out the tartan; not enough contrast. And, as my kilt wearing progresses, I now prefer, not so much the matchy-matchy stuff, but, a color that will complement the tartan
Now, it got me thinking as to what hose color I prefer. I do like the standard colors: bottle, lovats blue and green, Navy, and brown. But, for some reason, claret has become my go to hose with many of my kilts. I kind of picked up the idea from OC Richard when I met him at the Highland Games in West Virginia. He's a tall guy, and very 'eye catching.' He was wearing his Isle of Skye kilt with claret hose. Now that was something that I really liked, and now I prefer it the most.

So, lets hear from the rabble on what you all like!

I have these dark charcoal ones and have black flashes ... I think they look great together but other options would look good too.

Charcoal goes very well with either of my kilts. Black for a more formal look and hunter green for more casual. I like the claret with the Isle of Skye.

I too like claret the best. My go-to-kilt is the Keith & Austin Ancient. The claret contrasts nicely with the soft green and blue hues.

An amazing friend of mine, who is a mad knitter (a self titled "Crafty Bitch") knitted for me a beautiful pair of Goldenrod wool hose. These are my preferred for this time of year, and I get positive comments just everytime I wear them out....and apparently facebook will not let me link the image to them..

Thanks for the kudos and the photo!
I've taken to wearing deep blue hose with that Isle of Skye kilt sometimes... like claret, it works mainly because there's no blue in the tartan!

Richard, I like the idea of the deep blue hose, also. I have, upon occasion, used that color too. Still, though, claret can't be beat.

I don't have an all-time favorite. My favorite color at any given time depends on my kilt, accoutrement, and my mood of the moment. But, it's a good question.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
