Just some randomness about sporran shape
I am noticing that I dont really like or use the normal shaped sporrans of the three I own the two normal ones are hardly ever pulled off the shelf they rest on but I use the heck out of the "modern sporran" I have, its basically just a stuff pouch from the camping isle at my local store. I use it more because I generally wear my kilts just about every day and I can keep all my important stuff like keys(Im a janitor I have KEYS) wallet and cell phone. Basically Im wondering if anyone else out there knows of any sporrans that are modern but still feel semi traditional. Thanks if you read this and any ideas are appreciated.

I have two sporrans. One is a simple soft leather day sporran that I made myself. It hangs from a belt with hangers that I made. The other is a vintage army amunition pouch. It is clipped to a military field belt.
Both work for different things.

Wizard,
thats pretty close to what I had in mind. Personally I am less inclined to wear one of the rounder ones than one thats something between what you have posted pictures of here and one that's kind of like a "Fanny Pack". Once I figure out what it is that I'm looking for I'll try to explain it better. Does anyone have a Favorite sporran either traditional or modern or modern-traditional.

Ditto. I would LOVE a sporran like the Wizard has conjured up!

There are sporrans that look very traditional on the outside but with some modern features.
For example:
This is a pretty traditional look.
But what if you need to put all this in it?
The Freedom Kilts Carry-All Sporran can do that.
Is this what you had in mind?
Cool sporran Steve ! I just might have to buy one of those . I think our ancestors would be amazed at the contents , other than the pipe tobacco and the ink pens !

Perhaps look at the Nightstalker Sporrans, from Stillwater Kilts. They have a slightly more contemporary look to them, hold a bunch of stuff, and are very nice.

I have never thought of myself as a minimalist but maybe I am.
All I ever carry in my sporran is my wallet, keys, and a coin purse.

Sorry but I can't get down with wearing canvas military surplus pouches or poke bags or other non-sporrans with my kilt.
I wear the same sporran for everything, a big Edwardian goathair thing. The pocket is 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" and I have plenty of room for whatever I need to carry, even a bottled water.
