Pollock Scotrans (tartan question)
Hoping some of the rabble from Scotland might be able to help here.. Throughout many of my google image and ebay ventures, I have seen a company called Pollock Scotrans. I have seen many photos in which there is a pattern which is strikingly similar to the Pollock tartan. Trying to find the chicken and egg relationship here. Does anyone know of this trucking line used a plaid pattern on its vehicles before 1980? If I am correct, the aforementioned year was when Clan Pollock created its tartan in the USA, which was reflected from the Maxwell tartan. Curious to see if this pattern was floating around before this. Any ideas?

I am sorry that I cannot answer your question about pre 1980 livery on Pollock's vehicles. If you google "Pollock Scotrans" you will be able to read the history of the company that goes back to 1935. You will find that their vehicles are all named as per your photograph.
You will note from the web site that they take pride in being a local family business. You may get your answers by contacting them.
I hope this helps.
