Yes it is a great day to be kilted, as is any day. Drank a couple Shock Top End of the World beers last night, I hope they find a reason to make it a part of their regular offerings, very tasty. Wearing my Ogilvie Hunting today with claret shirt and claret hose w/ green flashes.

Sounds like a great day Cranky! Lookin' sharp Mael.
My day out shopping kilted was fun. I had on my Black Watch and a red wool sweater. Met some people for coffee (they are used to me kilted by now) and then ran into someone else I know, who asked about "why a kilt?", "it's Friday" my reply. He mentioned another neighbor who also wears a kilt sometimes, who I haven't run into kilted. Then off to various shopping locations. Got a couple of "nice kilt/like the kilt" comments. One clerk immediately asked what family, she is a Sutherland descendant. My closest connection is MacKintosh, but with some Sutherlands, Gunns, and MacKays too. At another store, I held the door for a woman as we were leaving and she asked about my kilt and then she mentioned Wm Glen in San Francisco which lead to scotch and chutney discussion. Turned out her mother is from Glasgow.

Ah - at home "working" today I was kilted (easy - 'cause I have a home office). This evening I put on a USA Kilts (Celtic Nations) casual kilt for dinner and (as it turned out) a bit of dancing. I wore the same outfilt that I wore for the wine tasting and Christmas Concer a couple weeks ago.
Got (only) a couple of "off" glances - but several very nice compliments from (most of) the ladies who were dancing. I did dance in the kilt but kept "my" turns to a minimum. We do a DC style of Hand Dancing, some Swing and some ol' fashioned jitterbug. Good times.
Most of the folks there know (and/or are friends with) my wife - so there was no problem with having fine ladies with whom to dance. My wife is getting a US Army tartan "Sprot Kilt" for a Christmas gift. That was her idea - and, of course, I have a matching one for me.
If you are too busy to laugh, you are too busy.

How about kilted Sundays? when I was a wee boy in Scotland I was dressed up for church. Now that I am kilted again (recently), and a bi-cultural New Zealander, I have taken to wearing it to church. The group I am with is not at all stuffy, so it is accepted, and is, in fact, a wonderful ice breaker and relationship starter. I met a young couple from Britain who had just arrived, and the kilt was for them a clear connection.

Aye, GC! I'm kilted on Sundays not for worship, but to work, at the super box store, Wally World. My Christmas attire this month!

Well, another Friday! Kilted, but light on adventures. Out to drop off some donations at Goodwill, then a quick peek inside for a tweed jacket in my size--no luck! Target and Best Buy to look for a phone case that doesn't cost a third of the price of the phone--no luck!
No commentary or really even notice paid to the kilt. Had on the usual, with a Guinness shirt and black jacket. Well, maybe the girl with pink hair and piercings did a double-take, but otherwise lacking in "adventure". Must remember to go more interesting places on Fridays, kilted, in 2013!
