Lord, be present in your goodness with your servant Jamie, that his weakness may be banished and his strength restored.

The latest, just a few minutes ago...

KEEP IT UP EVERYONE! Jamie is improving by leaps and bounds! He woke up briefly today (I wasn't there, but his nurse said he nodded his head in response to a question, then seemed grateful as they sedated him again). We have a long way to go, and we won't know how complete his recovery will be until we get there, but I credit this miracle to all the good will and prayers that we are receiving, so....
KEEP IT UP EVERYONE!

In case you hadn't gathered, the word "ill" doesn't really quite sum this up. Panache damn near died yesterday morning, and could still have massive brain damage from lack of oxygen, caused by disturbed blood flow to his brain. He has a new valve in his heart....that mean open heart surgery on **Very** short notice...like less than two hours. What kind of valve was put in? I don't know.
He has opened his eyes. He's responded to the F-H.C.A.G's voice. He's responded to a nurses question....this is all good, VERY good, but there could very easily still be massive issues, and he's almost certainly in a lot of pain.
This is not like having an appendix out. There's a long road yet ahead.

Thanks for keeping us posted Alan. Much appreciated. Sending up smoke. The fact that he has survived is testimony to modern medical science AND his, his family's, and his friend's faith.

Almighty and immortal God, the giver of life and health: we beseech thee to hear our prayers for your servant Jamie, for whom we implore your mercy, that by your blessing upon him and upon those who minister to him of your healing gifts, he may be restored, according to your gracious will, to health of body and mind, and give thanks to you in your holy Church; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
