First, nice pictures. Great job! That is a beautiful tartan - excellent choice. I have never seen it before, but it looks very elegant. For a first tartan kilt and outfit I give you a solid A.

There is no such thing as too much tartan (IMHO), so your tie and flashes blend nicely. Your entire outfit looks well integrated, and you look very handsome in it. The possible exception is the cap. It appears to be contrasting gray, which to me makes it look a bit out of place, but if you like it, go for it! I would prefer a black or green balmoral or tam.

Unless you like the look and feel of the chain sporran (and it does look especially nice with that tartan), I agree with Riverkilt. You might consider acquiring a black leather sporran belt and reserving the chain for more formal occasions.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

A very smart kilt, a nice tartan and very well worn. Do change the cap and tie as suggested.

Not a bad first try at all but (for me) too much blue. Try some contrasting colours in there for your shirt, tie and hose (and lose the cap).
