It seems like you're looking for something about $100 (based on the BK and AK questions). If you're looking for a solid in that price range, I'd probably lean toward the AK (yes, Mike Butler is the owner and a very nice guy) AND/OR check out RKilts' new "Festival Model" which Robert just designed and is in the same price range. I've seen the RK and it's well put together for that price and he has slash pocket upgrade available for an extra $20.

Not sure if Steve (Freedom Kilts) still has any models in the $100 range, but he's another to look at for contemporary kilts. If memory serves, he DID a few year ago ("Industrial Model" was it?)... not sure about now.

Thanks Rocky, I'm really leaning heavily towards your casual now. Something to work in the yard or messing about out in the desert 4 wheeling.

Rich, I am waiting on a casual from Rocky. The Jones has been a huge ache but he, as you already know from your own experience, has been very patient.

Ah, the Jonesing is easier here with two on order. It's a bit cold ( plus wind ) for the casuals as yet and I have two here that I havent worn yet. Ian MacBride has built all my casuals thus far. A build sheet comes with each kilt. Getting to think of Ian as the casual guy. Have been real happy with every one.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Not to hijack but this is my first kilt from USAK. My current and only kilt is from Stillwater. Every single USAK that I've seen has been absolutely outstanding and every review of them, regardless of the model, has beamed with praise. With that said, the jones is pretty epic. Lol.

Just another option is tactical kilt. I have 2 and like them a lot.
I was looking for a kilt to hike in and they worked out perfect.
They are also great for knocking around in. Both mine are the camo models.

Didn't Tactikilts start as a joke product meme that people latched onto and ended up generating a demand?
