Well, imagine that. In the 2012 catalog they show the Bowmore model with boots, but in the 2013 version the model is wearing country shoes and the difference is very noticeable. I'll just have to start wearing my kilts and Bowmores with Wellys.

Yes, the Bowmore are made with a teri lined foot for extra cushion comfort. You can see it in this photo.

That doesn't seem to have stopped anyone from wearing them with shoes, however.

I have one pair of these in yellow. I have worn them frequently with regular shoes and no one has ever commented on the foot being different. I doubt that it has ever been noticed.

I wear Wellys with my kilt sometimes. It really depends on the weather, obviously. If I'm attending a gathering or Highland games for instance, and the ground is muddy and soaked, or if it is raining, then I'll opt for my Wellys with country socks and garters. The country socks are much longer than my kilt hose and work well with the Wellys.

As much as I like the look of Wellys, they are of little use here in New Mexico - a relatively dry state. Bogs are few and far between here, and mostly near the rivers - the major one being the Rio Grande. Leather or polymer boots are much more practicable.
