No chafing chemicals for me. Never had to use them for full or half marathons. Guess I'm lucky there. :-)

Yeah, for those who wish to show some kind of affiliation, I can understand somewhat. My kilt-wearing is not clan-affliliated, however, so that wouldn't be for me.
If people dress up for the run, like Macman said -- that's cool. I don't think I'd do it kilted, but I did dress up for the Tokyo Run for the Cure in December... The Japanese, however, don't seem to have much of a sense of humour when it comes to such things, and I was one of the ONLY ones wearing pink! Lol! But it was a cool event, as I got to run alongside a Japanese Olympic marathon runner and log a faster time than her... (I could only WISH it were because I was faster -- but she was too busy chatting with others while running)...
