Don't know which TV report you were listening to, but they are 12 months behind the news, Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee year was 2012

I knew that - perhaps the reporter was thinking it's not yet been 12 months since the hoopla was made about it last year. IDK??

Her Majesty succeeded to the Throne on 6th February 1952 and all the Diamond Jubilee celebrations were held in 2012.

There won't be anything more records to celebrate now until she takes the palm currently held by Queen Victoria who who presently holds the record for longest reigning British Monarch, on 10th September 2015 when Her Majesty will be 89.

(Victoria had a nearly 7 year start on coming to the throne at 18, Queen Elizabeth II has already beaten her as the longest lived Monarch).

Considering how long-lived the Queen Mum was, perhaps Charles (or William) will still be cooling his heels at Her Majesty's 75th Diamond Jubilee? Could happen, you know...
