Yesterday's Kilted Friday was a really big adventure. It was the debut of a new 511Tactical Kilt.

You can read about it on this thread "Road Trip to Asheville"
I had numerous comments about the kilt!

I love the kilted Friday idea! I am totally going to rock that!!!

This past Friday I was one of four judges in an art contest built around proposals for pulling off a bank heist (picked because of my security background, while one of the others is an author and former bank robber).
Salon ran an article about it last week:
http://www.salon.com/2013/01/30/bank...ind_an_outlet/
Proposals could be submitted as either individual or team projects, and some were truly amazing. The winning one involved actually stealing a bank's identity and devaluing its assets while raking in huge profits. The pic below has the winning proposal team on the left, judges on the right.

About 70 people attended the event. After it was over a bunch of us retired to a pub a couple of blocks up the street from the gallery, where I was chatted up by several lovely lasses.

A bad tassel day is still a good kilted Friday!

I like this detailed photo, it shows care and know-how if I may say so.
Here's my photo after the 4 day kilted weekend and one trip to the football match.

A local Arts fundraiser call Brew Haha in Sparks NV at John Ascuaga's Nugget, I believe this is the Scottish Ale from High Sierra Brewery in Carson City NV.

A creative photo shot of your outfit, Shasha! Looks smashing!
For my Kilted Friday, I chose again my Ancient Malcolm tank. Folks where I work have become so use to me wearing a kilt on Fridays rarely mention it. One snide comment heard in the aisle of the grocery store where I was seeking provisions for the night; ale. I ignored it; stupidity needs no comment, to quote a famous American, “stupid is as stupid does.”

Okay, I'm a day early, but I'm wearing my Hunting Sinclair Box pleat today with my brown L & M military style sporran (thanks so much for both, John at Keltoi!) I was headed out for an appointment, but while I was visiting at another church, I received an E-mail that it had to be cancelled, so I did a wee bit of shopping before I headed home.
Received some covert female glances and two fellows with deep Scottish brogues thanked me for wearing it oot and aboot and offered strong handshakes. Regretfully, no photos (yes, I know the rules!) since I was just out to do an errand, not make an "appearance."
And now.... just back to the keyboard!

Finally, my first Kilted Friday been wanting to do this for awhile. Has been a pretty good day so far - no snickers or funny looks from anyone. I guess I will have to try this again sometime. My boss took the pictures, so I guess he approves. Ah, freedom!

I've got big shoes to fill ... so I wear big socks!

Well done, gents!
As my alma mattar (UVA) was playing in our (ACC) conference basketball tournament I wore a preppy look with a khaki colored kilt, college striped tie and navy blue kilt jacket. I took the afternoon off to watch my team play in the quarter finals, but alas they fell.
At least I enjoyed the Scottish ale at the pub where I watched the game!
