Yes, now I've looked at the zoomed in closely, and looked at the set - it des seem to be a modern Ferguson of Atholl..... I wonder what the link is there?!
It may have been just picked for the colors, or there may have been a regimental connection with a Ferguson.
Yes, I could see how that might influence the tartan choice. We are having a similar issue here with he competition for the University of Lethbridge tartan. It seems logical - but i thought that there may have been a more definite affiliation - in the same respect to the Gordon Highlanders or the Seaforth using the Mackenzie, etc.
