McScott kudoos for taking the plunge. Fate has not been kind in the job arena for me in the last year, and when I started with my present employer in November I was none to sure how people would react. I remember a little trepidation on that first Friday, but I did so any way. Hopefully you might inspire a few other fence sitters.

Not a great photo, but there may be more coming. Tomorrow's my first parade with the band so I wore the band kilt to school and played for several of my classes.

Since I wasn't planning on wearing ghillies all day, I swapped out the band issue cream socks for bracken bowmore socks from Matt Newsome and a slightly irregular sale brown sporran from Stillwater (the leather loop on the back needed a few stitches).

Sunday we play again for our local minor league hockey team's traditional green ice game.

Thanks seanachie, I was a little nervous. I think I will give it a month or two and try it again. After work went to get fish fries for the family, where I went two women hooted (in a good way) about the kilt and an older gentleman, while chuckling, asked me if I played the pipes. I told him not yet but you never know.

Well I'm not a betting man, BUT something tells me you wouldn't mind the ladies giving you another hoot or two before a month is up!

Just remember your nervousness in wearing the kilt is in inverse relationship to the time you wear it!

You are correct Mael it's never a bad thing to get positive attention from the ladies.
Mostly I was worried that management was going to have a fit about the kilt. I am happy to say at least my manager didn't have a problem with it. With it being winter I have not worn it a lot but am starting to more and more. A friend of mine has just gotten one also so I am planning things with him to do for kilt nights. I always look forward to the next time I can wear my kilt and am looking forward to getting my next - USAK casual either U.S. Navy (was dad was in but not me) or Holyrood. Tough decision - would love both that will not be possible. Also thanks for the advice.
