It rounds out the big kilt objectives I've had for some time:
1.) I wanted to own at least one Dalgliesh weave. Likewise, one that was fully hand-sewn.
2.) I already had a Buchanan Modern, so wanted at least one other colourway - I ordered two... a Reproduction, and a (Hunting) Ancient.
3.) I thought about a high-end Doublet, but don't attend enough white-tie events to justify, so decided to fund a third kilt instead.
4.) I wanted a kilt that was pleated to stripe (all my others are pleated to sett.) I also wanted to design a tartan, so the third kilt addressed both wishes.
As these were all big-ticket items not money-wise possible at any other time of the year (but fully covered by the funds I received as an income tax refund), it was either going to happen now, or not at all. Next year's refund is going toward a trip to Scotland.
