Feeling rather odd
Let's see... I wore a kilt weekend before last because I was at the Sonora Highland Games. So I spent the whole weekend in a kilt. Aside from that, the past two-three weeks have been the LEAST that I've worn a kilt in a very long time. I think maybe just one or two days in that three week time?
Why?
Because my legs/shins are all banged up. I have scars, mid-shin on both legs from deadlifting, and great scar on the left shin from whacking myself with a 42 pound weight. I'm scratched up from scruffling around in the bushes , getting out the small tree that is our new womens A class caber a few weeks ago. And of course, there are the mosquito bites that we get at evening practice. There's the whacking great scar from where I just had a "sebhorrhea" frozen off the inside of my right thigh. The thing is, scars on my shins and legs take MONTHS to fade out, and I just haven't felt like wearing kilt socks.
Go figure. Maybe I'll wear one tomorrow and pull on some socks. Of maybe I'll just make everybody look at these pair of messes I call legs.

My legs are scarred and scratched up from years of camping and more recently backpacking in my kilt, I can't say I've ever gotten any scars from lifting though. Just wear your kilt proudly and show off your scars, I'd personally rather look like I use my legs than keep them covered and sheltered!

Alan, don't worry about who sees your scars. You're away of them more then anyone. I've had a scar that splits the right half of my right eye brow. Most people don't see it. I have a scar on my face most people mistake for a dimple.
Really if you have scars they are great conversation pieces. Don't cover them up. Wear them proudly and let the work know how tough you are, you're so tough you wear a kilt!

I like Pleaters suggestion. Spray paint graffiti on the shins!
OK, I've got on a kilt today. I pulled on the Sock Dreams O'marled sox (which are The Bomb for ginormous gams like mine, BTW) and stepped out this morning. However, I'm putting on sweatpants for practice tonight, because the mosquitos get G'NASTY right around sunset on our field. These guys are enormous...flippin' things have radar.
