When it comes to flashes and garters, I generally like to pair bright colored flashes (like tartan red) with muted hose (like ancient blue, green, or mid grey), or do the reverse using a muted flash/garter (mustard or bison) with a vivid colored hose (like bottle green).

In other words, I don't blend muted shades with muted shades, or vivid colors with vivid colors. I mix the two color palettes.

If you like the idea of a yellow or mustard flash or garter, I would select a mustard if worn with a primary color hose, or go with yellow if worn with a muted hose.

Otherwise, just go with Father Bill's advice... "The colour that keeps your socks up."
