Today I wore my kilt, tweed jacket, etc to pipe at a funeral. For going out to dinner in a little while to celebrate my wife's birthday, not so much.

Alas, I didn't get any pics. But I was kilted both today, and yesterday to wear to work. Got many comments... it was the sgian dubh that drew the most interest. Part of me is always somewhat nervous that someone will object to it. Anybody ever had negative comments about a sgian dubh?

....no I didn't actually buy the cask strength Laphroaig, but my daughter enjoyed having me visit her at work on National Tartan Day.

Well sadly, in Glasgow, "negative comments" could be quite a mild response!

    Extremely strict laws in England

Don't wear one in public as it only needs one person to make a call and then the police arrive, classed as offensive weapon. I will be investing in a dummy one to wear

Me neither, though I was sure looking at it at BevMo! I wimped out and got some 10 year Laphroaig.

No photos, but like Peter Crowe I was at my Masonic lodge for an open house yesterday. The town's Scottish roots have been in the community's consciousness lately, so I didn't get as many "why the kilt?" questions as one might expect.
