Yup - I play with Mohawk Valley Frasers Grade 4.

Our daughter has been Pipe Sergeant of the US Air Force Pipe Band, but they are about to be disbanded (again)... :-( She's about to move to Colorado to teach at the Air Force Academy, so maybe she'll check out Denver and District!

We are a grade5/street band with a preponderance of older players and late learners. I do have several kids I'm teaching, though, and we should be able to rejuvenate the band somewhat over the next couple of years. I was hoping to get the band down to the Victoria Highland Games next month to compete in grade 5, but I've had too many pipers beg off for various pressing reasons. We will be competing at the Comox Valley games, though. Last year, we played at Comox in grade 4 and came 3rd in piping and tied for 3rd overall in a field of 4. Got knocked down to 4th, though, because we were short one side drummer.
Part of our band is entering Gr. 4 at the Victoria Games, I think. We're not really a competition band. We have a lot of older players and late learners, as well as a number of members from the old City of Victoria Pipe Band. I don't think Bob is member any more. If you do make it to Victoria next month, let me know and I'll look out for you.

I wasn't there for that one.

It would be nice to have links to your various bands' YouTube videos so we can hear each other playing.

Here is a video of my band playing at the 61st Annual Tartan Ball of the Erepa Grotto Pipes and Drums, of Erie, PA, USA. We were their guest band for this year. We had a great time that night. There was approximately 800 guests there that night, so one of our largest audiences. My Band (the City of Thorold Pipe Band) is a street band that prides itself in playing as professional as possible, and we're registered as a Grade 4 band as well. Many of our members are also members of the Niagara Regional Police Pipe Band as well. Enjoy. (I am the Drum Major)

I started taking piping lessons from the local Legion Band about a year ago. I'm a late learner 54 and a slow one at that.

Elliott Bay Pipe Band in Seattle. We are a competition band comprised mostly of older players, though we do have a very talented young piper. It's a very good group of folks.

We are trying to grow the band, hence this shameless plug. If you are or know of a piper or side drummer looking for a band, come check us out. Here's a link: www.elliottbaypipeband.com

For a couple years I was a drummer (side and bass) in the Fort Worth Scottish Pipes & Drums. Then I left the country. (And I'm not just talking about Texas. )

I pipe and tried with the local pipeband. It didn't work out for me. I've been told I don't play well with others. Oh, well....

I'll try not to be shy. Here's a link to the podcast page for a feature our local public radio station did on our band. As you can tell from the shorts I'm wearing in the video, it was early in the fall just a few months after I got back into playing. Wasn't doing the piping portion of practice at this point. http://wmuk.org/post/kalamazoo-pipe-...agpipe-classes
